Nailed It - Amy's Top 2 Nail Looks For Camera

Nail colors. It's one of the first questions I get from girls that are a week or so away from their session. They are scared to death their nails will be super visible in their images and be the downfall of the whole session. They stress over the color, shape, length etc. but I'm here to reveal ALL the secrets so here goes.

THEY DON'T REALLY MATTER. Yep. I said it. They don't. For the most part they will not be seen or if they are seen it is from far enough away that you can't tell minor imperfections. Here are the top 3 REAL no no's when it comes to your nails and what will REALLY show up on camera.

- Dirty nails. Now while you don't need a new set of fake nails to look good on camera, you DO need to have them clean! Be sure to clean under your nails and make sure there is no dirt hiding under there!

- Chipped Nail Polish. You can choose to put on a nail polish if you want or you can go without but whatever you do, don't hang around in the middle with a little bit of chipped polish still on your nails. That will be noticeable in certain shots, so you want to be sure all old nail polish has been removed!

- Loud nails. Let me say it a little louder for the ones in the back.... LOUD NAILS. There are so many new bold colors and crazy patterns (I saw cow print nails recently) to choose from and many girls now have each finger in a different color or pattern. I DEFINETLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR CAMERA. What looks good in person does not always look good to my camera and loud colors and patterns will compete with the star of the show.... YOU! If you decide to go for the fake nails, I always recommend a simple French manicure. Simple allows you to shine on camera which is what we are going for!

My best suggestion? Clean, natural nails or a French manicure. Those are my top picks!
